How do negative ions affect hair?

Negative ions are negatively charged particles (electrons) in the air that cannot be seen with the naked eye because the diameter of a negative ion is one thousandth the diameter of a particle of water vapour. They are non-stable, so they bind to other particles (dust, dirt) and especially to positively charged ions (static electricity).

Negative ions are used to remove the positive charge from the hair, which causes it to become electrified and untamable. The Ionic Hair Brush removes static electricity from the hair just by combing it unnoticeably. At the same time, the negative ions penetrate each hair, completely enveloping it and sealing the hair cuticle. This retains moisture in the hair and improves the hair's flexibility. Benefits of red LED light therapy

Red LED light therapy is very healing and beneficial for our scalp. Our hair is constantly renewing itself. The life cycle of the hair consists of three periods which, under normal conditions, are constantly repeated. During the first period (the anagen phase - the growth phase), which lasts for 3 to 5 years, the hair grows and strengthens continuously. As the hair ages, it enters a second period (catagen phase) during which it becomes dormant. During the resting phase, which lasts about 3 weeks, the hair remains on the head but does not grow. This is followed by a three-month period (telogen phase - the resting and shedding phase) when the hair falls out, allowing the follicles to produce new hair. Typically, there are 75-85% of hair in the anagen phase, 2% in the catagen phase and 15-18% in the telogen phase.

The US space agency NASA has found through research that red light has been shown to help restore hair growth. All light emitting wavelengths between 630-670 nm (nanometres) helps and solves the problem of hair loss. The red light emitted by the LED hairbrush is 655-660 nanometres. It is also important to point out that the device (which emits the light) does not necessarily need to be a laser - as long as it is working and emitting the necessary wavelength, it will help with hair restoration and growth.

Other studies have similarly found that red light therapy increases blood flow to the hair follicles of the scalp and stimulates hair follicle metabolism in the catagen or telogen phase.
