Indoor air quality
We spend most of our time indoors, and hardly ever ask ourselves what the air quality is like. Do you notice that in some rooms you become tired, sleepy and lacking concentration within a few hours?
One of the reasons for this is the quality of the air and the amount of negative ions in it.
IONEX Ioniser
The carbon brush-based IONEX Ioniser emits negative ions without the presence of ozone, which remove carcinogenic sub-micrometre particles of soot and exhaust fumes, dirt, dust, formaldehyde, resin secretions, cigarette smoke, viruses, bacteria, odours, mite droppings, etc. from the air, which no filter can stop, and which accumulate in the lungs over time.
While ventilation would only have a momentary effect, an air ioniser ensures the right climate all the time, i.e. 24 hours a day, we enjoy perfectly clean air and thus have a positive impact on our health and other living conditions.
Therefore, it is essential to have an IONEX ionizer in the room that produces or emits 199 million negative ions per cm³/second. The result of such a large amount of negative ions produced in the space is 100% clean air.
Negative ions are small, electrically negatively charged particles that have a positive effect on human health and well-being. Negative ions are most often found in nature (at waterfalls, at sea, in mountains). However, they are scarce in living spaces, where people spend most of their time, and are dominated by electrically positively charged particles - positive ions.
Research has shown that indoor air has only 20-50 ions per cm3, indoor vehicles about 5 ions per cm3, cities about 100-300 ions per cm3, industrial environments 90-100 ions per cm3, while nature boasts 50,000 to 200,000 ions per cm3 near waterfalls; about 4,000 ions per cm3 in the mountains; and somewhere up to 2,000 ions per cm3 in forests.
The lack of negative ions indoors is due to the use of more and more modern man-made materials such as synthetics, nylon, neon lights, electrical and electronic devices that generate positive ions or consume negative ions. Modern construction methods (knauf, metal construction, reinforcing iron, etc.) also prevent negative ions from entering buildings (the physical Faraday cage effect). Ventilation through split systems and air-conditioning systems generate additional positive ions due to the friction of the air in the ducts.
So if there are too many of these devices or materials in a room, there are too many positive ions in our environment, which can lead to asthma, migraines, allergies, nervousness, headaches, irritation, etc.
The air is also dominated by many pollutants - positively charged particles such as dust, allergens, bacteria, viruses, odours, smoke, chemicals, exhaust fumes, etc. - that float around in the air and are inhaled every day. Negative ions bind to these positive particles and gravity causes them to fall to the ground or to surfaces where they never have to rise again. Even the smallest, most dangerous particles of 0.01 micrometres (cigarette smoke, pollen, PM particles) are successfully removed by negative ions.

Scientific research has confirmed that negative ions are essential for our lives.
In one experiment, mice given oxygen without negative ions died. NASA found that the astronauts suffered from muscle cramps in space, but after the ionisers were installed, these problems stopped. A study of test groups in their actual working environment showed that fewer people were sick in the ionised rooms of 30%, and they also had a higher work performance.
Some work environments are a breeding ground for a variety of diseases, especially modern spaces where the air and temperature are artificially regulated by air conditioning. Their ductwork effectively serves as a hotbed for fungi and bacteria, while the friction of the air through the ducts simultaneously destroys negative ions. As a result, the air circulating in the rooms is depleted of negative ions but "enriched" with bacteria. In a well-known case, Legionella Pneumophila bacterial activity at the BBC television network's premises in London led to the death of three of their employees.
Benefits of negative ions
Negative ions are the basis of many functions in the body, which is why we feel extremely well and relaxed in environments where they are abundant. Indoors, negative ions have a lot to do. Some negative ions are used indoors to purify the air as they bind to pollutants; some bind to any positively charged object and stay attached because of their electrical voltage, so there are fewer and fewer negative ions left in the air we breathe.
Why are negative ions so important for our bodies?
In every litre of air, there are millions of particles as small as bacteria and viruses, which also cause disease and even kill. Tiny particles in the air (which we are not even aware of because no eye can detect them) are produced virtually everywhere: by smoking, incomplete combustion, barbecuing, industry and, above all, traffic. The smaller the dust particles (also known as PM), the deeper they penetrate into the lungs and even the brain, and the more they harm the organism. After their formation, they remain in the air for several days, penetrate through all door and window cracks and are therefore almost as common indoors as outdoors. Some of them, such as soot, cause respiratory and circulatory problems and, ultimately, cancer.
Even with fan cleaners and filters, there is no way to get rid of these tiny sub-micrometre particles, because even the best HEPA filters can only remove particles up to 0.3 microns in size. In this case, only an ioniser or negative ion is effective, as it is the only one that can remove particles as large as 0.01 microns. Negative ions work and release positive effects on the human body.
With ventilation, you only get an instant effect, while the air ioniser ensures the right climate all the time, i.e. 24 hours a day, you enjoy perfectly clean air and thus have a positive impact on your health and other living conditions. The indoor negative ion count can be significantly improved by artificially adding negative ions, as the IONEX air ioniser produces as much as 45 million negative ions/cm3/s (the highest negative ion emission on the market today).
Air ionisation is therefore essential in all living and working spaces and is the human body's best friend.
Carbon brush
One of the most important features of our ioniser is that it emits negative ions from a carbon brush, which never emits harmful ozone during its long lifetime, like metal needle, plasma or membrane ionisers.
Ionisers with metal needles, plasma or membranes produce oxides and ozone, which are harmful to health because they irritate the lungs. It is also important that the element emitting the negative ions (the carbon brush) should be visible on the outside of the ioniser; if it were placed inside, the negative ions would be destroyed on their way to the outlet due to obstruction and friction.
Silent operation
A loud appliance is always a nuisance, no matter how quietly it hums, especially in the bedroom at night. We recommend that people with allergies, asthma or high blood pressure do night therapy (have the ioniser on a bedside table or chest of drawers close to the bed). This is why we have not built a fan into the ioniser, which is conditioned by unnecessary filters, thus eliminating the potential noise, extra cost of replacements and the work of cleaning the filters.
10 key benefits of IONEX ionisers
1. Patented technology
IONEX carbon brush ionisers are a top-quality, patented product of the Slovenian manufacturer IONEX, which are the result of its own work and improvements. They are tailored to your needs - quiet, compact, powerful and pleasant to look at.
2. Quality Certificates
The quality of the appliance is proven by SIQ, CE, IEC, CB, EMC, LVD, ROHS, GS, TÜV and negative ion measurements at the Jožef Stefan Institute. Numerous customer feedbacks confirm the excellence and efficiency of the apparatus.
3. Exceptional effect
The IONEX air ioniser produces a large amount of negative ions, thus providing significant beneficial effects. Many competing products are only able to deliver half or even a quarter of the ions compared to the IONEX ioniser.
4. Compact design
IONEX air ionisers are characterised by their advanced design and small size, so you can easily find a place for it and take it with you to work, travel, spa, etc.
5. Quiet operation
A loud appliance is always a nuisance, no matter how quietly it hums, especially at night in the bedroom, so we have not built a fan into the ioniser, which is conditioned by unnecessary filters, thus removing the extra cost of changing and the hassle of cleaning them.
6. Safe carbon brush
One of the most important features of our ioniser is that it emits negative ions from a carbon brush, which never emits harmful ozone during its long lifetime, like metal needle, plasma or membrane ionisers.
7. Outstanding purifying ability
Besides the healing effect of negative ions on the body, which has been confirmed by many institutes around the world, the main ability of this appliance is to purify the air. It takes advantage of the physical and chemical properties of the negative ions as they bind to existing floating particles in the air. It is also able to remove the most dangerous sub-micrometric particles of soot and exhaust gases from the air, which are carcinogenic, thus protecting the lungs and other tissues from the build-up of toxic substances.
8. Easy maintenance
Maintenance of the ioniser is easy - just wipe it with a damp cloth once a week and clean the surrounding area, as dirt from the air is most likely to accumulate nearby.
9. Lifetime over 10 years
The lifetime of an IONEX ioniser is over 10 years. We provide you with a 2-year performance guarantee.
10. The IONEX ionizer is not a medical device, but a technical apparatus that emits negative ions. According to many scientists, these have a beneficial (healing) effect on the body.
